Well, Christmas has come and gone, and although I didn’t get a camera on actual Christmas, I used the (crapload) of giftcards I got in order to buy one. Because my old one could hold on no longer, and finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. *moment of silence*
After much research and investigation, I figured that for the price range I was looking in and the features I wanted, my best bet was to go with the Canon Powershot a560. I think I chose well. It has a good zoom, and a manual function that I love messing with. Decent sound quality, and I being able to take videos, finally, is quite fantastic.
I’d take a pic of it…but getting one is a bit of a paradox. I’ll have to go find a mirror and be all myspace-y I guess.
Not too much to report, but I got my second pair of knee socks! Actually thigh-hi’s, but who’s counting?
After discovering the sad holes in my favorite black n’ white kneesocks (I have a thing for long socks) I decided it was finally time to retire them. Couldn’t quite bring myself to throw them out though, so I made them into wonderful armwarmers! They’re pretty fantastic actually.
All this amazing sewing craft-ery (a word?) left me without a decent pair of kneesocks though. Tres sad. My argyle ones were alright, but didn’t achieve nearly the height of the black n’ white ones. They barely reached my knee, for crying out loud! I had planned on buying new pair of B&W thigh-highs from Hot Topic (just about the only thing that store is actually good for) but since I’m po’ broke, kept putting it off.
Transitioning to last night…a bunch of girls I’m friends with on campus decided to so a ’secret santa’ type thing, and we opened gifts last night. Side note–I felt absolutely horrible because the gift I ordered for A. hadn’t come in the mail yet. I couldn’t let her open NOTHING while everyone else got gifts, so I got her coal. Hah. Hopefully her real gift will come before break, otherwise I’m going to be pissed. The perils of online shopping, I suppose. Anywho, I opened my gift (my roommate was apparently my secret santa. Honestly I was hoping she WOULDN’T be, since she has….um, zero sense of style or anything but she did surprisingly well) and I got a (k)new pair of knee socks! And the first season of the Office. Exxxxxcellent. The socks are totally great too, which is frankly shocking given who bought them.
So yeah, one new pair of knee socks down, one to go!
Also, I’m freaking excited for break. Only a few days left! And I’ve just noticed how badly my keyboard sticks anymore. My ‘A’ key rarely works on the first try, and my backspace is a bit shoddy too. What’s up with this? Its totally obnoxious.
